RECIPE | Taste5 Tzatziki Sauce
with Taste5 Vegetarian
From Greece to Turkey and further to India, there are many delicious versions of this cooling sauce made with yogurt, garlic and cucumbers. This is one of our favorite summer sauces that compliments so many dishes from grills to a dip for a platter of crisp, raw summer vegetables. This is a quick preparation and should be made shortly before serving. We've boosted the flavor with Taste5 Vegetarian!
1 European cucumber or 3 Persian cucumbers, finely chopped or grated
2 cups Greek-style strained yogurt
2 cloves of garlic cloves, peeled and mashed to a paste with a pinch of salt
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill or mint
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
2 teaspoons Taste5 Vegetarian paste
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Toss the chopped cucumber with teaspoon of kosher salt
Place in a colander and let sit for 15 minutes
Rinse well and drain on paper towels
Combine the yogurt, Taste5 Vegetarian, garlic, dill or mint, salt, pepper to taste, and olive oil.
Stir in the cucumbers.
Adjust seasonings and serve.
