RECIPE | Oven Roasted Mushrooms with Taste5 Herb Sauce

Oven Roasted Mushrooms 

with Taste5 Vegetarian

This is earthy, umami-deliciousness at its easiest and yet is rather elegant. Serve as a part of almost any meal as a starter, a side or tossed through pasta as the main event! The combination of the roasted goodness with the bright green punch of our 'sauce of summer' - Taste5 Herb Sauce is truly spectacular!


Yield 3-4 cups


2 lbs of mushrooms (any combination of crimini, oyster, portobello, button mushrooms)
2 shallots, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 recipe Taste5 Herb Sauce


Heat oven to 500˚F degrees
This works best with an iron skillet, but works just as well on a sheet pan lined with parchment
If using a skillet, place skillet in the oven while it's heating

Clean the mushrooms, with a damp towel to remove any dirt.
Best not to rinse them, but if you must, pat them dry
Slice mushrooms, into meaty slices
Do not slice them too thin

Remove the skillet / sheet pan from the oven and evenly spread the mushrooms across
Return to oven for 3 minutes
Remove and stir the mushrooms around to make sure all sides are exposed and get even heat
Return to the oven for another 3 minutes

Remove from the oven and toss the mushrooms with the shallots and butter
Roast for another 3 minutes

Remove from the oven, and season lightly with salt and pepper
Toss or drizzle with the Taste5 Herb Sauce and serve immediately!
